Orange Park Resident Wins Coggin Car, Benefiting American Cancer Society

JACKSONVILLE, FL (July 18, 2006) – Entering a chance drawing to help raise money for the American Cancer Society landed Orange Park Resident Deborah Difolco in the seat of a brand new 2006 Pontiac GTO

This was the third vehicle donated by Coggin Automotive Group since 2004 to help the American Cancer Society’s Duval Unit raise money for cancer research, advocacy, education and patient services.

More than 5,000 people took part in the fundraiser, purchasing chance drawing tickets for $10 each.

Dilfolco, who purchased the ticket from a friend last year, had actually forgotten about the drawing when she was contacted by the American Cancer Society last week with the good news.

"I’m still in shock that I actually won," she said. "I kept thinking that there must be a catch, but it was on the up and up. The Coggin people were wonderful when I went to pick it up and the car is in my driveway now."

Coggin Automotive Group has supported the American Cancer Society for many years.

"One of our ads says ‘the service department we are most proud of does not repair cars…Community Service is what drives us,’" said Charlie Tomm, President and Chief executive Officer for the Coggin Automotive Group. "Contributing the vehicle for the American Cancer Society drawing permits the Society to multiply our contribution and raise more funds for this very important cause."
